It took a year...

Slightly more than a year ago, I built a Stormraven Gunship and even primed it up.  I figured my ability to paint a huge army of Blood Angels in the span of a couple weeks would lead to this ship being done in no time at all.

Little did I notice that the primer coat was horrible, my attempts to strip the model back to plastic were even worse, and finally, my motivation to paint had become little more than a task-killer.  Add to that a job, almost dying, and family drama and you have a recipe for an unfinished job.

Well, the new Stormtalon was released, and the new 6th edition rules are about to be released, and I figured I had to be ready.  Deciding on being responsible, I chose to actually paint that year old Stormraven before I even touch the Stormtalon.  On the plus side- it looks awesome!  On the bad side, I am almost out of red...

Without further blah blah, here she is:

Here's the detail for the cockpits.  I didn't put alot of work into them, but I wanted the pilot and gun-servitors to be at least somewhat attractive.  All in all, I believe I succeeded...

It's done, it's done, it's really really done!  My Blood Angels now have possibly the best flyer in the game!!!

  1. Hey man that does look really good. Are you painting chapter markings or are you using transfers?

    1. I am definitely all about hand-painting them. I've already done so for a couple squads and tanks in the army, it's just a matter of me working my way there. Plus, I figure this'll be a great palette for a 'how to paint BA symbols' blog at some point in the future- it's so big and flat!
